Basset Hound
Medium sized, intelligent, and known for their long, pendulous ears, short powerful legs and sweet, sad expression, the Basset has wormed it's way into the heart of dog lovers around the world. The Basset Hound is regarded as an ideal family dog, adaptable and affectionate, protective and trainable. He is very loyal and devoted to his family.
The Basset requires only minimal coat care, perhaps grooming once a week, and his exercise needs are a short break outside, a daily walk pleases him. The Basset is excellent with children, and he bonds with the whole family, making him a superb choice as a family pet. For an owner seeking an easy going, steady companion who requires quite little of it's owner, the Basset Hound will not disappoint. Their bark is deep and melodious and this is a placid breed, never aggressive, though they can be willful.
