The Cocker Spaniel has become a popular companion, admired for its size, elegance, soft coat and beautiful face framed by large, dangling ears. The Cocker Spaniel is a gentle, playful dog ideally suited to a family pet, she has an affectionate temperament and is full of life and exuberance. Sturdy and compact, the Cocker Spaniel has a merry nature with an ever-wagging tail.

These dogs make wonderful pets for children since they are gentle, happy and sensitive. Regular trimming and brushing are required to keep Cocker Spaniels in peak condition. If you'd prefer to leave the coat long you will need to brush it daily and shampoo it often, a medium length coat is more manageable with daily brushing.
